During the month of January the Second grades studied about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  They read about his life, wrote his biography, wrote their dreams and their parents dreams for the future.

The students made T-shirts with their dreams on them.

On January 30th, a performance for all was presented for Sharing Day.  The students recited a portion of the "I Have A Dream" speech.

"I have a dream that 1 day my 4 little children will grow up in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin or by the content of their character."

Then 3 children from each of the 2nd grade classes presented their dream for the future as well as their parents dream.  The song "This Little Light of Mine" was led by Ms. Garcia and sang by all as the children waved their self-made torch.
