Mrs. Combra's Class Crayfish (KITES)
This is a collection of procedural writings. The children participated in several lessons. We started by learning about verbs. We practiced writing "vibrant" verbs for tired words. Each student illustrated sentences using a vibrant verb for the word. They included words such as: swallowed After that we read "The Cafeteria From the Black Lagoon."
Next we chose a food that we enjoyed eating with our families. The
children wrote recipes using key words such as first, next, than, after that,
later, at last and finally. The recipes were revised, proofread and shared
and compiled into a book that you see here. This next set of pictures shows the children making graphs
